• Purpose: For skilled workers who already hold a temporary work visa (typically a Subclass 457 or Subclass 482 visa) and have been working for their nominating employer.
• Key Requirement (Post-December 2024 changes): Generally requires that you have worked for your nominating employer (or any approved employer, as per recent changes) in your nominated occupation (or a closely related one) for at least two years on a 457 or 482 visa (down from three years).
• Age Limit: Usually, under 45 years of age at the time of application (with some exemptions for certain high-income earners, academics, scientists, and medical practitioners).
• Skills Assessment: Generally, a formal skills assessment is not required if applying through this stream, provided you hold a relevant temporary visa.
• English Language: Competent English (e.g., IELTS 6.0 in each band or equivalent) is required.
